Page templates include common page elements and make page
creation faster.
Portal includes three default templates that are available for
immediate use when you are creating a page; Articles, Basic, and Label.
Your site administrator might have deleted some or all of these default
templates, so they might not display in the site toolbar. Also, your
site administrator might have created custom page templates for your
organization to use. A page template can include the following elements:
- Portlet entities, including portlet preferences
- Page layout and style
- Theme and skin settings
- Portlet wires for communication with other portlets
- Page parameters
- Page description (all languages)
After you choose a template for your page, adding content to
the page does not affect the template.
Use labels to group similar pages together with one another in
navigation. The first page in the hierarchy of grouped pages loads
first when a site visitor selects the label.
